And yet another revolution

Our good friends at Glitch Organisation are throwing a party this Saturday at Club Culture you shouldn't ignore.

Bringing electro-disco head Bangkok Impact and his label mate DJ TLR from Holland, one can expect the shindig to be an explosive cocktail of italo-disco beats crossed with full-on Detroit electro basslines.

Not Happy Jan, from Melbourne's Meccanoid collective will open the night as early as 9pm.

On top of that, and God knows we missed him, Montonn Jira will celebrate his return in town for a groovy minimal dj-set.
And the best part : it's free entry !

WIN : B1,000 vouchers at Yohii

Yohii is that kind of place perfect to chill after a long day work. Popular concept for drinking and sharing dishes with friends or colleagues, Izakaya restaurants are few in Bangkok.
Located on Kaset Nawamin Rd, in Town in Town, Yohii offers a wide range of kushiyaki, sushi, sashimi, donburi and fusion dishes.
Their extensive menu is available on their website, just flip the book to get an idea of what you can get. Trust us, it is as good as it looks and the portion are large enough to be shared with friends.
The experience wouldn't be complete if you were only having food at Yohii. Izakaya restaurants are originally casual places where Japanese would drink and order food on the side.

Order Yohii's signature drink Soju, an orange alcoholic beverage made with yogurt. If you don't feel adventurous enough, sake is always a good bet.
A lounge music DJ and a live band add their touch to the vibe without being annoyingly loud. There is an outdoor area if you are looking to chill without freezing.
We have 6 vouchers worth B1,000 each to give away.

Send us an email at buzzincontest@gmail.com with your full name and tell us what makes you buzz. We'll quickly get back in touch if you have won.

Zoukout 2007 line-up announced

It seems this year Zoukout festival is much more interesting in number of names than its previous edition. The Singaporean festival has put up a versatile list of acts for 12 hours of party.
If you haven't made up your mind on whether you will travel to Global Gathering Malaysia, you should seriously consider the other option : Zoukout.

Annual event, the seventh edition will be held on Santosa beach on December 8.

The DJs invited are top-players and the line-up doesn't disappoint.

Osunlade and Gilles Peterson are invited to play their jazzy and deep house electronica.
Mouth-watering are the performances of two other deep duos who are not regulars of clubs this side of Asia : Ame and Bookashade.

No newbies, them, Carl Cox and Armin Van Buuren will rock the festival-goers' socks with pounding beats and bosh synths.

Uffie is also on the bill. The Ed Banger's iconic female, with DJ Feadz behind his laptop, will have to maintain her show on a huge stage which can be risky. For a smaller concert of her and Feadz, another date is set in Bangkok. Keep your eyes open.

Genre en vogue, Zoukout couldn't have happened without its "nu-rave" concert. We're happy to learn they decided not to fly Klaxons, hurray, instead bringing Does It Offend you, Yeah ?

We support this wise decision but are even more looking forward to see DJ Craze and MC Armanni.

More names will be announced in the days to come if you need more to be convinced. With a bill that massive you shouldn't need to.
The festival website is being updated regularly with the latest confirmations.

Open door DJs

Last year, German magazine Groove had the good idea to sneak in German DJs living-rooms and publish pictures of what they had found. Their "show me what's your room like, I'll tell you who you are" photo-story was an insight into each DJ habitat and the mess they live in ( for some of them ).

Some pictures ran in that issue :

Ellen Allien

DJ Hell

Richie Hawtin

Sven Vath

Ricardo Villalobos

And the winner of the messiest room was DJ Koze ( notice the lonely flip-flop ) :

A year later, Groove selected another bunch of names and shot their places. The results are visible here.

Worth pointing out is Dixon, and his taste in wallpaper :

Radio-ahead

Radiohead has finally announced a successor to their last album. " In Rainbows " will be available to all October 10 but don't try to find it in stores. The band has decided to make it available for download only.
This represents a considerable challenge for the music industry since Radiohead can be considered as one of the most respected and innovative band.
Furthermore, the download price will be fixed by the fans themselves.
" It's up to you " is the message shown after clicking on a price box.
